A native of Boston, Carol worked in fiber and clay before discovering the medium of warm glass. A lampwork bead class in Buford Georgia got her started, followed by an enameling class at the John C. Campbell Folk School under the tutelage of Joan Bazzel. Working out of her home studio in the North Georgia Mountains, Carol creates one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry pieces out of fused glass and glass beads. "I am fascinated by glass – a substance that is actually liquid in a solid form. My lampwork beads, enamel pieces, and kaleidoscopes remind me of tiny aquariums with multiple colors and dimensions. Each piece has an element of unique chaos during its creation."
