My name is Sandra Copenhaver and I create “Art for the Homeless”, with proceeds from every piece going to help local homeless shelters. I have always had a deep and passionate desire to paint, to create art with depth and life, with light and color. I began taking art classes and after struggling for three years painting with brushes, I began using a palette knife and everything changed. Then and only then, did I feel satisfaction with my creations. So today, much of my work is created with a knife leaving the paintings full of texture and dimension. I also have been working with watercolors lately and love the freedom it brings, just like the knife does to my oils.
I have lived in Florida since 1975 but have spent summers in the north Georgia mountains for the last ten years. I am a lover of nature in all forms and try to paint the natural beauty of my surroundings in both places that I live.
I am a member of the North Georgia Arts Guild, Citrus Watercolor Society, and the Citrus Country Art League. My paintings can be seen in person at the Rainbow Springs Artists Coop in Dunnellon Florida and the FLorida Artists Gallery in Floral City, Florida.
