A long time lover and collector of pottery, Jean took her first class at a local art studio in the fall of 1989. Her keen interest in nature makes the medium of clay a perfect match. She began throwing cups, bowls and pitchers on the wheel.
After creating functional pottery for many years, she discovered the joy of hand building and began making her whimsical creations. Jean continued her studies of ceramic art at The Art Studio, in Wilmington, Main Line Art Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania, The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, John C. Campbell Folk School and the Hambidge Center.
Originally from Aiken, SC, Jean now makes her home in North Georgia. Her work is created in Sunny Side Clay Studio in her home on the north side of Tiger Mountain. You can find Jean,s work for sale at the Lake Rabun Hotel in GA and Re-Fresh Gallery in Aiken, SC.
